After graduating from Chapman University, Sam spent 3 years as a staff producer/shooter/editor for The Atlantic. His work there earned a handful of Vimeo Staff Picks, as well as Webby and National Magazine Award nominations.

After leaving The Atlantic, he began working as an independent director and cinematographer, based in Los Angeles. His work has screened on networks including HBO, PBS, National Geographic, and at top film festivals around the world.
